Rev Miller's bail extended

The Reverend Al Miller had his bail extended until September 23 when he reappeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Miller made a brief appearance before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey when his matter was mentioned around 10:10 a.m., and the decision to extend his bail was made shortly afterwards. Miller remained silent throughout this time and only nodded at intervals to RM Pusey.

The accused was last in court on July 2, when he pleaded not guilty to the charges of perverting the course of justice and harbouring a fugitive. He was implicated in the apprehension of Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

Miller had surrendered to the police for questioning after he was allegedly seen by a police team in the company of Coke, then a fugitive.

He was later charged by the Organised Crime Investigation Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

According to police reports, Miller had said that he was escorting Coke to the United States Embassy in St Andrew when he was apprehended.

Miller also assisted in the surrendering of Coke's siblings, Leighton 'Livity' Coke and his sister Sandra, into police custody shortly after the incursion into Tivoli.
