Two more suspects held in cop killing

Detectives from the Major Investigations Taskforce have slapped criminal charges against two more suspects in connection with the May 23 murder of two policemen, along Mountain View Avenue, St Andrew.

Charged with murder are 30-year-old Oswald Kemp, otherwise called 'Frass', and Wayne Brown, 22, otherwise called 'Mark' or 'Crawb-up', both of Mountain View Avenue. This brings to three the number of men who have been charged in connection with the shooting deaths of Sergeant Wayne Henriques and Constable Jason Davis who were cut down during the reported ambush.

Police reports are that in the wee hours of the morning, a team of policemen responded to reports of heavily-armed men robbing motorists in the Mountain View area.

The team of policemen were reportedly ambushed upon their arrival. Sergeant Henriques and Constable Davis were fatally wounded while six other policemen were shot and injured.

That incident occured while sporadic acts of violence gripped sections of the Corporate Area and St Catherine. The incidents are believed to have been carried out by thugs loyal to former west Kingston strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke. The military incursion of Tivoli Gardens began just hours afterwards.

The three suspects Kemp, Brown and Dwayne Forbes, 30, otherwise called 'Stamma', also of Mountain View Avenue are all booked for the Gun Court next week.

Investigators say they may be also be charged with six counts each of shooting with intent.
