Major shows for Stevie Face

Stevie Face - File

Reggae artiste Stevie Face is set and ready to give a special performance at this year's JCDC Festival Song competition finals, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre tonight.

Following that performance, Stevie Face says he will then look to making his first ever appearance at the annual 'A St Mary Mi Come From' event, set for next week.

The event, organised by veteran dancehall artiste Capleton, is set to take place later tonight at the Gray's Inn Sports Complex, in Annotto Bay, St Mary.

Stevie Face has promised his fans a spectacular treat. The artiste, who also spoke of his high regard for Jamaican music, says it was an honour for him to be called upon to perform at one of the country's leading events.

"It's always an honour to perform for my people in Jamaica, even though I have been performing a lot overseas," he said.

The reggae singer, born Anwar Hanchard, and his management team are currently in talks with a French-based music record label who has bid to work on several music projects.

Although he didn't divulge much information, the Tell It Like It Is singer confirmed that he was currently in discussion with the record label.

"It's a company reaching out to Computer Paul. The negotiations are ongoing so we don't want to divulge much into it because we not sure of the direction," he noted.

Currently, the singer is working on a 16-track album (not yet titled), which will be his second. The album is being produced by Computer Paul and Penthouse music's Donovan Germaine.

He will be shooting a video shortly for the single, Thank You Jah for Loving Me, on Germaine's 'Big Stage' rhythm, and it will be directed by Asha.

The pending album has been dubbed as one of his best studio work and it features the big European hit Nah Leggo Jah. He will also be working with various artistes on a musical project put on by Germaine in honour of Beres Hammond.
