Conned residents want their phones back |

|
Several residents, of Kitson Town, St Catherine, have been left crying for their phones after a man tricked a number of them into believing he could fix them and then ran off. "Lawd Jeezas! It mean sey dat him gone wid mi two slide-up dem. Mi haffi fin' him nuh matta wey him deh," remarked a woman who fell victim to the con man. The man had recently surfaced in the Kitson Town area and took a number of expensive instruments, including BlackBerry phones and IPhones. THE WEEKEND STAR was told that the culprit has distinct marks such as a cast-eye and big protruding front teeth. He is said to smile a great deal and is usually dressed smartly in white shirts. One woman said: "Hold on, sar, a two phone di man tek from yah so alone, one black and the other white, plus many others." The resident said the man came into the community, engaged them in 'juicy' conversations and then told them of his prowess in fixing phones. "Lawd, let mi get back mi white slide-up, please. Di bwoy too tief," a boy said. When checks were made at the Guanaboa Vale Police Station, an officer said that no formal report had been made concerning the stolen phones. |
