The Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI) has commenced a probe into an incident in which a man was fatally shot during a police-military operation at Gut Bottom in Granville, St James about 5:45 a.m. yesterday.

Police identified the dead man as Cedric Wright, believed to be about 27-year-old.

One home-made shotgun, one .38 Colt Revolver, four 12-guage cartridges, four 9 mm cartridges and five .38 rounds were seized in the incident, the police said.

No further details were given.
