A woman who was charged for having an offensive weapon, had her charges dismissed after she proved to the court that the weapon in question was actually a work tool.

Pauline Cunningham brought a letter to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday stating that the weapon, (a knife), she was charged for having in her possession is actually a work tool.

Cunningham was found with the knife in public and was charged. She told the court that she uses the knife to cut recycled bottles to extract waste.
