![]() Gareth Davis -Detectives from the Port Antonio CIB in Portland comb through a gully looking for clues while at the scene where the body of businessman and farmer Rudolph Naulty was found. Gareth Davis Sr, STAR Writer Detectives from the Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) in Port Antonio are yet to establish a motive for suspicious death of 50-year-old businessman and farmer Rudolph Naulty. The businessman's body was discovered shortly after midday yesterday in a gully at Cooling Spring, in Hope Bay, by a group of young men who had gone in search of him after he was reported missing. Police sources said the man was reportedly last seen alive by a relative shortly before 10 a.m last Friday, when he decided to leave the house. According to the police, a relative became suspicious after hearing strange sounds coming from the direction of the gully, and raised an alarm. A search party was quickly organised, and during a search of the entire perimeter of the gully the body was found. CIB detectives, who combed the entire area looking for clues, are yet to determine the cause of death. So far, the cause of death is inconclusive, as the body had no visible wounds. However, police sources said they have not ruled out murder as the likely cause of death. Family members, who broke down in front of our cameras uttered that only recently the businessman lost a number of goats and cows which were stolen by thieves. The police are now awaiting the results of a post-mortem, which is to be conducted next week to determine the cause of death. The Port Antonio CIB is investigating. |
