'PLUMPIE' SHOT DEAD

Twenty-four-year-old Rodney Hewitt, otherwise called 'Plumpie', of Arthur Leon Drive in Golden Spring, St Andrew, was shot dead by unknown assailant/s in his community on Thursday night.

The Stony Hill police are reporting that about 9:45 p.m., 'Plumpie' was walking along the roadway with two other men when loud explosions were heard. He then ran into an unfinished building, and it was later discovered he had been shot. The other men managed to escape harm.

'Plumpie' died on the spot.

Detectives from the Major Investigations Task Force are probing the matter.

MAN SUCCUMBS to INJURy

One of five men who were shot and injured on Tuesday, August 3, in Big Lane, Central Village, St Catherine, died yesterday at the Spanish Town Hospital.

Dead is 25-year-old labourer Ricardo Suckoo of Big Lane, Central Village, St Catherine.

The Central Village police is reporting that about 10 p.m., the downereceased was among a group of men playing dominoes when they were pounced upon by armed men. The gunmen fired several shots hitting all five men.

The injured men were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were admitted in serious but stable condition. Suckoo succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, September 2.

The Central Village police are still probing the matter.

TEEN MURDERED, ANOTHER INJURED

The Highgate police have commenced an investigation into the shooting death of 17-year-old Richard Guljar, otherwise called 'Richie', of Cunisburgh district, St. Mary, and the injuring of a 30-year-old woman at Clonmell district, St Mary, on Thursday night.

About 9 p.m. Guljar was at a business place when a man, who had previously had a dispute with a group of men at the same establishment, returned to the location and opened gunfire. Guljar was shot. He died on the spot. The armed man left the business place then returned a few minutes later. This time he shot and injured the 30-year-old woman. She was taken to hospital where she was admitted in serious condition.

The gunman escaped but later turned himself in to the police, without the firearm.

The Highgate police are continuing their investigations.
