The first day of the new school day might have been a memorable one for students of the Jack's Hill Primary and Infant School in St Andrew, but for the wrong reason as thieves reportedly robbed the institution. Sources from the St Andrew North police say the thieves seemingly gained entry into a number of classrooms by removing decorative blocks and blackboards. They then proceeded to steal books, pencils, sheet sets and other items. Classes were reportedly suspended early. A cellular phone number, provided for an official from the school, went unanswered up to press time last night. However, THE STAR learnt that this is not the first time crooks have robbed the school. A few months ago, thieves reportedly broke into the school and made off with food items. Classes are expected to resume today. |
