Detectives from the St Catherine North police have slapped charges against a suspect in connection with the early-morning massacre in Tredegar Park on Friday, August 13, when the lives of eight persons were snuffed out by heavily armed thugs who invaded a section of the community. He is Anthony Richards, otherwise called 'Shortie', a 29-year-old telephone technician of Spanish Town and Clarendon addresses. He was charged on Friday with eight counts of murder, shooting, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to murder, and is now booked for the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on September 14. He was taken into custody last Wednesday. According to head of the division, Superintendent Assan Thompson, the police are now seeking Isley 'Judgement' Williams, and Kemar 'Deo' Walker, whom they believe can assist them with their investigations. The police also say five other suspects are still in custody awaiting identification parades, after which they are expected to be charged. "The police will stop at nothing until all these suspects are brought to justice," a tough- talking Superintendent Thompson told THE STAR yesterday. Meanwhile, persons who may have any idea as to the whereabouts of the identified suspects may contact the Spanish Town C.I.B at 984-7557 /984-2874, Operation Kingfish at 811, or the police 119 emergency number.
