Bounty Killer gets bail extension

Dancehall entertainer Bounty Killer, whose real name is Rodney Price, appeared in the Gun Court yesterday and his bail was extended to return on January 26, when his trial will commence.

Price is answering to charges of illegal possession of firearm, assault at common law and unlawful wounding.

He is charged jointly with former police constable Calis Bowen.

The charges against the men arose from a September 2007 incident.

The police had reported that on September 27, 2007, Bounty Killer and a group of men assaulted an off-duty policeman along St Lucia Avenue in New Kingston.

It is reported that the policeman had left a club and noticed a number of vehicles blocking a section of the roadway. He reportedly signalled the men to clear the roadway when he was attacked and a gun was allegedly pointed at him.
