Stage Name: Chan Dizzy Real Name: Kamar Ho-Shing Birth Month: January How did you get started in the business? Chan Dizzy: It was from high school. I used to be on a sound system as a disc jock, and I was always talking on the mic. I used to be clashing at school as well. So, after school I decided to do it professionally. So, I started hanging around studios, did some engineering and writing songs, and that's how it happened. What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet? Chan Dizzy: My greatest challenge so far has been breaking the songs into the dancehall. Getting the songs played at the weekly events like Weddy, Passa Passa, Uptown Mondays. What have you been up to lately? Chan Dizzy: Writing, recording, I have a couple of new singles out. Currently I'm planning to do a new video for a single called Nicest Feeling with the first lady of Head Concussion Music, J. Capri. Also doing a medley video for the 'Pagans' rhythm, the latest release from Cashflow Records. Do you look up to any specific artiste and why? Chan Dizzy: Yeah, man like Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Buju Banton because of their longevity. they have somehow managed to remain relevant for years. Are you happy with the way things are going for your musical career right now? Chan Dizzy: Very happy, I can't complain, Nuh Strange Face is doing very, very well, and so are my other singles. Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up? Chan Dizzy: First of all, mek sure you do music for the right reasons. you have to love it and show dedication. And practice every day. Where do you see yourself in the future? Chan Dizzy: In the future I see myself on top of my game, to have couple albums under my belt and to have a lot of crossover success. -Krista Henry |
