SHELDON WILLIAMS, STAR Writer

Two persons were robbed of an undetermined sum of money and later shot and injured by a gunman who pounced on the vehicle in which they were travelling in Cross Roads, St Andrew, on Monday.

Information reaching THE STAR is that both victims had gone to a business establishment on Kings Street in downtown Kingston where they collected a large sum of money.

While travelling on Caledonia Avenue in the Cross Roads area, they met upon a line of traffic when a man armed with a gun approached the vehicle they were travelling in and opened fire immediately hitting both persons.

The gunman robbed the occupants of a large sum of money which was removed from the car before he escaped on foot in Cross Roads.

The injured persons were immediately assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital by passers-by where they were admitted in stable conditions.
