Denise Williams, Shelly Ann Davis, Alecia Whyte and Karen Guy, all of Kingston addresses, were charged with selling illegal lottery tickets and for illegal bookmaking. The other accused, Karen Whyte, was charged with illegal bookmaking. Allegations are that they were caught and arrested while engaging in the illegal activity. "We have pickney fi feed your honour," one of the accused women said. But Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey replied, "That is no excuse for engaging in illegal activity, I do not have to show any mercy on you. Persons have to pay for a lottery licence."
