Crystal Harrison, Star Writer The police are refuting claims that one of their colleagues stabbed his common-law wife, and was involved in a high-speed chase on Tuesday. On Wednesday, THE STAR was informed by a police source that the cop, who is a young member of the police force, allegedly stabbed his common-law wife with a knife during a dispute at their home in Westmoreland. It was further reported that the injured woman was dragged into the policeman's car which was eventually chased by lawmen. However, head of the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN), Inspector Steve Brown, said yesterday that there was no stabbing and there was no high-speed chase involved in the incident. It was also reported that the woman turned up at the Mandeville Hospital and the accused cop had turned himself into the police. According to the CCN head, "There was a fist-fight between the policeman and his common-law wife after she came and saw him sitting in a car with a female. There was no stabbing and no chasing." |
