The Flankers Main Road in the second city of Montego Bay, St James, was the scene of a tragic accident last night.

Unconfirmed reports are that at least two persons were killed in the accident. Efforts by THE STAR to confirm this figure proved futile as the police were still processing the accident scene up to late last night.

Up to press time, the details on the accident were sketchy but THE STAR was told by one source that about 6:45 p.m., a Lexus motor car collided with another vehicle which resulted in the deaths.

The Flankers main road has been the scene for a number of accidents over the years.

According to data from the Road Safety Unit, as at June 1, 131 people were killed in road crashes. This figure is four per cent above that for the same period last year.
