An unemployed man accused of unlawfully wounding his wife must now pay over $107,500 after being given a sentence date in court on Wednesday. Kevin Lewis of a Kingston address pleaded guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court to charges of unlawful wounding. His sentence date was set for November 22. It is alleged that the accused was having marital problems with his wife. He accused her of being unfaithful, so he kicked her out of his house. He then refused to maintain the children and she then went to live with her mother. While at her mother's house he went to visit her and an argument ensued, this caused him to assault her causing a cut to her hand and bruises. When Resident Magistrate Geogianna Frazer asked the complainant if she wanted any more compensation for emotional damages, the complainant said she wants $100,000. |
