A 13-year-old is now in custody and a 17-year-old is being sought following the seizure of an illegal firearm at a high school in west Kingston earlier today.

Reports from the Trench Town police are that about 1:15 p.m., a school resource officer attached to the division's Community Safety and Security Branch conducted a search at the school. The search yielded a 9 mm Taurus pistol and a magazine with 15 rounds.

The identities of the teenagers are being withheld pending further investigations.
