Come March 24, buses operating from the ground floor of the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre will be temporarily relocated to other areas in the vicinity of Half-Way Tree, to facilitate renovation and resurfacing of the area.

Corporate communications manager at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), Reginald Allen, told JIS News the ground floor will be closed to commuters and buses for two weeks.

"The buses destined for Portmore (1A, 3A, 8A, 12A, 16A, 17A, 17AX, 18A, 19AX, 20A) will now operate from South Odeon Avenue; buses destined for Spanish Town will operate from upstairs the Centre, while the 83 route, which goes downtown, via Mountain View, will be operated from Clock Tower Plaza," Allen pointed out.

He added that the special routes for the disabled and some transfers - 101, 102, 103 - which normally operate from the ground floor, will now terminate upstairs the centre.

Additionally, the 800 bus, destined for Cross Roads, via New Kingston will be available upstairs rather than downstairs the Centre; the 52A and 53 buses will operate from North Odeon Avenue and the number 47 and 75 buses can be boarded at the corner of Molynes and Eastwood Park roads.

During the two-week period, the 700 route will not be in operation. All other operations at the transport centre will remain unchanged.
