Ex-policeman in custody for sex crime

A former member of the Island Special Constabulary Force has been taken into custody on suspicion of abduction and rape.

The man was taken into custody last week after his former colleagues received a report from a female about a sexual assault from the suspect.

It is reported that on March 25, the suspect allegedly met the complainant at a police function in the Corporate Area.

After being introduced, he offered her a ride home. While on the journey, he reportedly stopped the car, pulled back the passenger seat and raped the woman.

After the ordeal, she was reportedly taken to a house in Portmore where she was again sexually assaulted.

The man is said to have fallen asleep and the victim called a friend.

She was rescued from the suspect. The woman made a formal report that she was raped by the ex-cop.

An investigation was launched and he was subsequently taken into custody.
