Internationally acclaimed singer and Grammy winning artiste Fantasia Barrino will become the latest overseas act to perform in Jamaica.

The former American Idol winner is set to headline 'Wishes: The Love Song', a concert billed to take place at the Constant Spring Golf Club in St Andrew on April 21.

The singer, who is most famously known for her hit singles When I See You and I Believe, will perform alongside R&B sensation J Holiday who is most famous for his single Bed.

According to Tasha Grant, public relations officer for BPE Caribbean, the promoters of the event, choosing Fantasia as one of the headline acts was a no-brainer. "This event should have actually been held on Valentine's Day. Fantasia can pull any size crowd, she can really do a good set. We have been doing a lot of promotions and the excitement level has surpassed our expectations. People are really committed to see her perform," Grant said.

It was however, the request of fans that saw J Holiday being included on the line-up. According to Grant, "We did a survey with persons between the ages of 18-40 and we asked them which seductive male artiste they would like to see perform in Kingston. J Holiday and Jagged Edge were chosen, but Jagged Edge was unavailable for the date. J Holiday is a good artiste, he has good material and he can give people what they want," she told THE STAR.

Local acts Chino, Denyque and Ikaya are also on the line-up.

According to Grant, these three were chosen because they can rock a stage. "Chino and Denyque have a good song, they can do a good set and rock the stage together. Ikaya is a powerhouse by herself, I've watched her rip up stage shows, she has good stage presence."

In addition to the star-studded line-up, there are also online competitions where fans can win dinner dates, a cruise to Lime Cay and photo shoots with the artistes.

Grant says patrons will leave the event remembering the performances.

Fantasia had previously performed in 2005 at Reggae Sumfest. However, this will be J Holiday's first performance in Jamaica.
