Dear Pastor,

I have known parents who beat their daughters for having their period and accused them of "taking men" when these poor children have no idea of sexual relations. Some of these children grow to have a fear of letting their parents not knowing anything about their lives.

A lot of our parents need parenting classes themselves as they do not have a clue of who they are and the responsibility they have.

You are quite correct in your observation. But some parents are really trying. Some still resist talking about sex with their children and discussing how they should relate to the opposite sex, etc. But with the many different programmes on radio and newspaper articles and courses in parenting, people are listening, asking questions and receiving the answers that they need to help their children.
