Suspect linked to attack of couple in custody |

|
The St James police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with Sunday's attack on a young couple in the parish. THE STAR understands that during the attack the female was sexually assaulted and the male stabbed and robbed of his cellular phone and cash. It is reported that about 1:17 a.m. the couple was at the 'One Man' beach near the Old Hospital Park in Montego Bay, when the couple was pounced upon by a group of men. sexually assaulted THE STAR understands that during the attack, the 18-year-old female was sexually assaulted, while the 19-year-old male received stab wounds to the right side of his neck and his right side. He was also robbed of his cellular phone and cash, amounting to $3,400. It is reported that the couple was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital by members of a police patrol who were quick on the scene. The female was treated and released, while the injured male underwent emergency surgery. His condition is reportedly critical but stable. |
