Two-way justice system in Jamaica

It seems like justice for one is not justice for all because it seems like only when some people are the perpetrators we hear bout justice or should we say Jamaicans for Justice!

Mi really waa fi know who Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) represent and why does it seem like it only a protect or always a protect the killing of gunmen or alleged gunmen by police?! When mi look and listen and see the crime rate inna dis country and see how many innocent Jamaicans die everyday at the hands of other Jamaicans and mi no see JFJ lick out as vehemently as they do when is a police-related matter.

Now di worl know seh our police force is riddled wid corrupt cops as is the same all around the world and in many other spheres of life and profession. Yuh have bad teacher, dutty pastor, corrupt lawyer and the list goes on. So corruption must be removed from our security forces so that citizens can feel protected, served and reassured but at the same time wat is due to Caesar give it to Caesar.

A nuff time mi a watch news and hear bout some heinous crimes and mi tink seh Jamaicans for Justice a go keep a press conference and lick out yet mi no really see dem or even if dem a talk mi naa hear dem loud enough as when mi do hear dem when the police inna di wrong. Mi see wah day yah good good Jody-Ann Gray who seven months pregnant get shot and all now mi no hear JFJ come out and talk bout it or seh nutten.

judicial killings

A 12-year-old girl gets impregnated by a 20-year-old man and her stepfather a molest her as well and mi no hear JFJ. Police get shot and injured or killed pon the job, dead gone lef dem family and mi no hear dem a talk bout dat!

So who do they really represent because as a tax-paying, law-abiding citizen we waa know who a go plea for our cause or when injustice is meted out against us! It cannot be that is only when extra-judicial killings gwaan press conference keep yet when mi hear bout the prevalence of babies getting raped and the many women who suffer under domestic abuse it is silence.

At the end of the day many may feel seh we cyaa live wid di police but we cyaa live without dem either and to wah me see a gwaan dem haffi drop back because dem no waa get inna no problem. That is not a good sign because a officer might just feel like it better fi process a crime scene than run inna di line a fire fi protect a civilian only fi when him do dat him ketch problem. When dem wrong dem wrong, but when dem do good commendation should be in order as well.

Look how many businessman under pressure from extortion and all manner of evil ... men and women who haffi work hard everyday and mek sacrifice, nuff a dem dead or face all kinda tings and mi no hear JFJ come out and talk bout dat! Many of them have died an mi no hear dem a seh raaay an a dem people deh keep Jamaica running yet it seems that there is no justice for them...so wah dem anno Jamaican?

volatile conditions

There must be a watchdog organisation to hold our security forces accountable but who hold the gunman accountable and who represent the justice that their family, friends and loved ones need? I will concede that one organisation cyaa do everyting and maybe more Jamaicans need to step up to the plate and lobby and represent our own justice instead of suffering in silence or taking matters into their own hands. Anno everybody live uptown inna gated community wid big gate weh go 'clung' when it lock or security a di gate fi let dem in. So when the police dem scared fi do dem job weh anything can happen because a di volatile conditions under which dem haffi work di average citizen just get juk!

Wah nite yah mi a hear bout a woman who have out fi her latitude a pickney and seh a so it go because God seh she fi multiply not take away mi woulda waa JFJ come out an talk bout dem ting deh! Cause how can a woman siddung inna dem time yah an a multiply like she a calculator and cyaa take care of her children properly?!

Di taxpayers need justice! Jamaicans want justice and di poor pickney dem who haffi suffer because a dem modda wanton carelessness want justice too!

Di poor likkle farmer dem who a suffer because of praedial larcency mi sure waa likkle justice, mi friend aunty who got brutally murdered weh day want justice to, the likkle old lady weh bring tears to mi eyes cause dem teef her one goat want justice as well. Let us broaden the cover of justice for every Jamaican and not just for those who allegedly suffer at the hands of the police.
