Friends mourn Archie's death on Facebook page |

Crystal Harrison, Staff Reporter Friends of former university student Devar Akeem Erskine, who was fatally stabbed 17 times on Wednesday, have been pouring out their love for the 24-year-old on the social networking site Facebook. Erskine, 24, was reportedly stabbed to death during a dispute at his home in Vineyard Town, Kingston. Long-standing dispute Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that Erskine, aka 'Archie', was involved in a long-standing dispute with his stepfather. Police said about 12:40 p.m., Erskine was stabbed with a knife 17 times. He died at the hospital. His stepfather has been detained. Since the news broke that Erskine had succumbed to his injuries, his friends are having a hard time dealing with his death. Kira Bryant wrote on Facebook, "still can't believe it! All when everyone status says RIP! Went to bed in tears and woke up in tears. It can't be my friend Archie. In the short space of two years I've known you, u were a great friend to me an I will always cherish those moments ... I miss u an love u." "He was a cool but jovial and intelligent youth. Devar went to sixth form, graduated and went on to the University of the West Indies to further his studies," Kye said. Another of Erskine's friends who was in disbelief wrote, "It seems like it was just da oda day we were up Jacks Hill n I was taking dis pic o you. Jah know. R.I.P the original scrilla biggy!
