DPP to make ruling in Conroy Edwards case |

Crystal Harrison, Staff Reporter The Director of Public Prosecutions is to soon make a ruling in the case involving Conroy Edwards, friend of dancehall deejay Mavado, who was shot during an altercation with police personnel outside a nightclub last year. Head of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) in St Catherine, Floyd McNabb, in a press conference yesterday, said that case file is waiting a final report for it to be sent to the DPP's office. "As of May 18, the file is awaiting the final investigation report for it to be sent off to the DPP for a ruling," the investigating officer said. altercation Edwards, a member of deejay Mavado's entourage, was shot during an altercation with a policeman at the Quad Nightclub in New Kingston on June 13. It is reported that Mavado's entourage was involved in an altercation with police personnel on the steps of the nightclub. It is alleged that a cop was assaulted by a member of Mavado's crew. The policeman then allegedly opened fire hitting Mavado's crew member. Edwards was admitted to hospital in serious condition. However, he later succumbed to his injuries. |
