Tifa to make her mark on Heineken Best of Summer

Leighton Levy, STAR Writer

Sexy dancehall artiste Tifa is set to share the stage with hip hop megastar Rick Ross later this month - and she intends to make it count.

Tifa, who, yesterday, saw the worldwide launch of her latest single Hold On, will be the only female act down to perform on the Heineken Best of Summer Concert set for the Urban Development Corporation parking lot on June 22, and she is excited about the opportunity.

"It's one of the big shows of the summer, and I am elated!" she said. "I am a big fan of Rick Ross, one of the biggest names right now in hip hop. I am really excited, and I know they're looking for dancehall artistes, so I am looking to do something extra."

Tifa currently has singles that are doing well in Africa including Love Me 2, featuring Laza Morgan; Destiny, featuring Konshens on the Wet Up rhythm; Niceness, on the TNS rhythm from Chrome Productions; Wife Me Up, for 12 to 12 Productions' Hot Chocolate rhythm; and Ex Man, for Washroom Entertainment.

She says, however, that as much as she wants to tear things up for the Best of Summer Concert that will also feature Aidonia, I-Octane, Potential Kidd, and Masicka, she has to hold something back because she has to save something for Sumfest, which comes up not too long afterwards.

Still, she intends to make her mark. "I am the only female on the show, so I have to represent. I have to make my mark," she said, promising some "kinky stuff here and there".

Overall, though, she says she just intends to have fun. "As long as I am having fun on stage, the fans will have fun," she said.

Her single, Hold On, which was released yesterday, was done on the Poolside rhythm and was produced by Washroom Entertainment. The rhythm also features songs by Konshens, Dario, Busy Signal, Fambo, and Voicemail. Tifa also reveals that she has a few more singles coming out soon, so her fans can watch out for those as well as an album, which, she says, is set for a late summer release.
