Burke Road man arrested for ammunition |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer An operation by the St Catherine North Street Crime Unit has resulted in the arrest and charge of a man for breaching the Firearms Act. Charged with illegal possession of ammunition is Damion Shaw of Burke Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine. Reports are that about 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, members of the unit spotted Shaw along Burke Road. His action is said to have aroused the suspicion of the police. He was accosted and searched. During the search, the police said three 12-gauge shotgun cartridges were found in his pockets. He was subsequently taken into custody. Police sources told The Star that they are investigating whether the man charged is affiliated to the dwindling extortion racket in the Old Capital. |
