Woman caught trying to smuggle ganja into lock-up |

The woman accused of attempting to smuggle nine ganja spliffs into the Denham Town police lock-up, by concealing the contraband inside a loaf of bread, appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. She is Jacqueline Martin, of a west Kingston address, charged with possession of ganja and introducing contraband in a penal institution. She was told to give her fingerprints to the police and is to return to court on June 20 when the matter will be mentioned. Reports are that on the day of the incident, May 30, about 10:16 a.m., Martin visited the lock-up with the intention of delivering the bread to an incarcerated relative; however when the bread was searched, the ganja was found. |
