Man stabs babymother with screwdriver

A fine of $10,000 or six months' imprisonment was facing a man who is charged with unlawful wounding in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is Gregory McKenzie.

The court heard that McKenzie, who is the father of the complainant's child, was involved in an altercation with the child's mother.

During the dispute, McKenzie used a screwdriver to stab the complainant on her left hand. It was revealed in court that both parents have always been fighting.

Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told the parents not to fight in front of the children. McKenzie was ordered to pay the fine.
