Dear Pastor, Thank you for the wonderful work that you have been doing. May God's grace be with you so that you will continue to encourage and bless people through this medium. This is my first time writing to you. I am having a problem and I would love if you could advise me on this matter. I was working with a company for five years. Things weren't right so I left. About four years after I left, I got a call from the boss asking me to come back and work for her, which I did. In July of 2011, three months after working with her, she started owing me my salary. I work for 2 1/2 months without been paid. She promised to pay me but only gave me $23,500. She now owes me $36,372. When I just went there to work she was doing an order which she had financial difficulties to complete. So, she asked me to loan her $15,000. She said she would repay me in three weeks when she delivers the order. I had $20,000 in my account which I explained to her that is the only money I had in my name and I lent it to her. She promised me faithfully that she would pay me in three weeks. The goods have been delivered from last September and she has collected the payments for them, and she continues to do business as usual. And I am yet to get my money. I asked her for my money and she ignored me totally. Confused I am still working with her. I have decided to leave but I am confused as to what I should do. Things are very bad down there. The factory has no ventilation and we have no water there. And I am fearful that if I leave now, she will not pay me as she has done to countless workers who had to just walk away because although they took her to court she has not paid some of them. Pastor, please tell how can I go about getting my money. I am awaiting your response. Please reply because I was praying to the Lord for some answers and I just decided to give up. And someone gave me the WEEKEND Star and, after reading your column, I decided to write to you about this matter. R., Kingston Dear R., I cannot comment on the allegations you have made about this woman with whom you are working. If indeed you gave her a loan and you can prove it, and you have asked her for your money, and she has refused to repay you, you should go to see a lawyer and ask him/her to write to her on your behalf. I believe that a lawyer is the appropriate person to deal with this matter. Pastor |
