High-powered weapons found in tivoli gardens


The three guns which were found by the police in west Kingston on Saturday night at an old Public Works Department property (Rasta City) adjacent Tivoli Gardens. The guns are a 50-calibre Grizzly Big Boar sniper rifle (background), another 50-calibre rifle and a M-14 rifle (foreground). The cops also found 600 rounds of ammunition.

Three high-powered weapons were found by police in Tivoli Garden, west Kingston, on Saturday night.

The weapons, two 50-calibre rifles and a M-14 rifle, were found along with 600 rounds of 7.62 ammunition.

The were reportedly found during an operation carried out by police officers from the Kingston Western Division along with soldiers from the Jamaica Defence Force.

Police said between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., the security forces carried out the operation in a section of the community called Rasta City, where the weapons and ammunition were found.

Investigations continue.
