Deejays Aidonia (left) and Macka Diamond (second right) speak with members of Young Veterans Music: Terro 3000 (second left), Tappa P (third left) and Sheldon Pennicott. Contributed Helping the less fortunate has become the phenomenon lately and on Friday, along with the support from dancehall artistes Macka Diamond, Aidonia, Terro 3000 and Tappa T, Johnelle Gordon and producers Sheldon Pennicott and Sekou Davis stretched their hands in kindness to patients at the Sir John Golding Rehab Centre, Golding Avenue, Mona. The men, who jointly own Young Veterans Music, spent the whole day treating the less fortunate who seemed very grateful for the effort, especially from the celebrities mentioned above. The event was in its fourth year and was sponsored by Chase Funds, Creative Options, GlaxoSmithKline, Virginia Dare Jamaica, Adam and Eve Day Spa, Fimi Wireless, PriceSmart, Lance Photography, Sugar and Spice, Brick Oven, Porter Brothers, International Biscuit Limited and Prestigious Bindery and Accessories. Several items and cash were donated to the centre, much to the delight of the staff and patients. Davies revealed that he was pleased to see the support from the artistes, and said he is hoping that next time around it will be an even bigger occasion. "I must admit, I have a new fond respect for Aidonia, Macka Diamond and the others that lend us support. This is a very worthy cause and I hope that come next year, the event will be a lot bigger," he said. |
