A Jamaican immigrant was fatally stabbed in the stomach and a teenage girl shot in the ankle after a fight outside a Bronx chicken restaurant last week Monday. Dead is 23-year-old Lonan Pitter who moved from Jamaica to New York four years ago. According to a report in the New York Daily News, Pitter, who lived on East 242nd Street, was last seen by family Sunday night as he jumped into a taxi to get his hair cut. Police say that shortly after midnight he was on White Plains Road outside a late-night chicken joint, where a fight erupted between five men and a 19-year-old. It is unclear if Pitter, who had no criminal record, was part of the group who attacked the 19-year-old, but he was stabbed in the stomach at the scene. Reports are that a motorist in a dark SUV dumped him in the parking lot of Montefiore Medical Centre and he was transferred to Jacobi Medical Centre, where he died. THE STAR understands that the 19-year-old had been inside the eatery with his 17-year-old sister, and as the siblings fled the young woman was shot in the ankle. In the meantime the police are now investigating the 17-year-old woman's role in the stabbing.
