Media personality denies raunchy video

CURTIS CAMPBELL, STAR Writer

MD TV producer Talisa Taylor has distanced herself from allegations that a video footage exists which depicts her dancing on stage in a strip club.

According to Taylor, this allegation is being fuelled by a former male employee of the television station whose service was recently terminated.

Various BlackBerry broadcasts said to be created by the former employee were being circulated over the past few days, stating that Taylor was dancing in a strip club. However, a tangible video footage is yet to be revealed to the public.

According to the producer, the allegation is affecting her family life and her business.

"I am having sleepless nights because of this man, it's affecting my business life and I think it's unfair, I have done nothing to this man," she said.

Taylor also said because the tape does not exist, the accused man has formulated a new rumour, claiming that she (Taylor), sent persons to raid his house to steal the video.

"I just want people to know that there is not a video with me in it, and because he does not have no video to show, he is sending out broadcast to say that I sent somebody to steal the tape. I don't even know where this man lives," Taylor said.

Taylor has since reported the matter to the Half Way Tree police station. However, the police are yet to make an arrest.

Constable Janet Higgins of the Half Way Tree police station confirmed that a report was made. However, she was tight-lipped about the development of the investigation.

private matter

"I am aware of the situation but it was not reported directly to me. It's a personal and private matter however, a report was made. In a situation where a person has been threatened, the victim could take out a threat summon where the culprit can be brought before the court," she said.

In the meantime Taylor disclosed that she will remove herself from the television station until the situation has been resolved.

"MD TV has not replaced me as yet, not that I am off because I am not gone from the MD TV family, I'm just taking a break. My boss has showed me 100 per cent support and MD TV is my second home," she said.

"If someone sends you something negative about someone why would you rebroadcast it? Who takes pride in trying to bring someone down? I have worked countless hours to build myself and I refuse to let unscrupulous individuals undermine me. Most of the persons who rebroadcast the messages are females. When are we going to learn to look out for each other and stop fighting against each other? Being a female trying to grow in this industry has proved to have its ups and downs but I refuse to give up because of rumours and lies," she added.

Before the defamatory rumours, Taylor was working on the production for a MD TV school tour aimed at the facilitation of peace in the West Kingston area called the MD TV 'Book Over Gun' school tour.
