RPD makes more arrest in forgery case |

The Revenue Protection Division of the Ministry of Finance and Planning is reminding members of the public that the registration and transfer of motor vehicles should only be carried out at any of the twenty-nine tax offices islandwide. In a release yesterday, the Revenue Protection Division (RPD) said that another person has been arrested and charged in connection with missing motor vehicle documents. Joint effort The RPD said that the arrest is a part of an ongoing and joint effort between the RPD and the police. It is reported that the accused has been charged with forgery, possession of forged documents, uttering forged documents and conspiracy to deceive. This follows the arrest of one other person three weeks ago in connection with the same matter. Other arrests are pending. Members of the public who may have information regarding the possession, or use, of motor vehicle documents suspected to be fraudulent are being asked to contact the Revenue Protection Division at rpdinfo@mof.gov.jm or 1-888 -225-5773 (CALLRPD). |
