A reggae singer was arrested in New Jersey, USA, on Monday, on suspicion of being in the country illegally, THE STAR has learnt. He is 52-year-old Tedane Anthony Kerr, known also as Anthony Butler. According to an Associated Press report, Kerr's stage name is Teddy Brown. Reports are that officers from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Kerr at his home in Asbury Park. Officials say he entered the US in 1977 from Jamaica as a lawful permanent resident but was ordered removed in 1997 after a conviction for aggravated assault. Checks on the singer's website revealed that he has worked with the Inner Circle Band, and that he has performed in New York and New Jersey. |
