Rasbert Turner, Portmore Star Writer Since Monday, operators of Toyota Hiace buses that ply Route Six will now have to terminate at the Naggo Head Transportation Centre. This rule was reinforced by the St Catherine South Traffic Department. "This illegal activity cannot be allowed to continue as their road licence states Spanish Town to Naggo Head, so we can't allow them to do what they want," head of the division's Traffic Department, Michael Llewellyn, said. The drivers, who usually stop at the Bayside roundabout, were seen going into the Naggo Head bus park. "We can't stop ya so again, bethren. the police dem de pon we case, so we have to go up a Naggo Head," Davin Orsmby, a driver, said. Others who were opposed to the action of the police have a different view of the enforced changes. "At peak hours, there will be a problem to drive from Bayside up to Naggo Head as traffic is at a standstill for hours," another driver told THE PORTMORE STAR. A number of commuters said the move is a productive one. "There are times you are coming from Gregory Park, and so forth, and you have to pay $80 to Bayside and $80 to Naggo Head. now you can pay half of that amount," Patricia Gilzene said. The police promised to maintain a strong presence throughout to ensure the rules are upheld. A motorist can be fined before a Resident Magistrate's Court up to $20,000 for not completing his or her route. Mayor George Lee and his predecessor, Keith Hinds, have both endorsed the new traffic changes.
