Two charged in Guardsman murder case

Two men, including a former security guard, have been charged with the murder of three Guardsman Limited employees at the office in Sheffield, Westmoreland, last month.

Twenty-year-old Kevon Smith and 22-year-old welder Jason Buckland from Three Miles River in Savanna-la-Mar have been charged with three counts of murder, larceny, robbery with aggravation and arson.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the Savanna-la-Mar Resident Magistrate's Court.

It is reported that the bodies of security guards 40-year-old Sylvia Beckford of Whitehouse Westmoreland; 31-year-old Judith McCauley of Cardwell district, Green Island, Hanover, and 33-year-old Bryan Morris of Little London, Westmoreland, were found in the Guardsman's office shortly after five on the morning of Friday, June 29.

Two of the bodies reportedly had stab wounds and the third had a gunshot wound.

It is reported that the persons linked to the triple slaying reportedly made off with two firearms.
