Problem with neighbour's home garage |
|||||
A senior citizen in an inner-city community is having a problem with his neighbour who is a mechanic. The mechanic continuously parks motor cars at the entrance of his neighbour's gate, leaving very little space for him to enter his premises. Despite repeated requests from the senior citizen for the mechanic to desist from blocking his gate, the mechanic ignores the requests and continues to use the area as a garage. "I am having a serious problem with my neighbour and I just want the issue to be resolved,' the senior citizen said. empty spaces He explained that his neighbour who is a mechanic will not stop parking cars at his gate, although there are other empty spaces nearby where he can park. "Now he has a rotten car for 10 years at a spot close to my gate which is full of rubbish and is a breeding ground for mice, rats and croaking lizards, and it is making my life so uncomfortable. "I have to be buying poison for quite some time to put in the old car. I went to make a report at the nearby police station, but the police said I should take out a summons and take my neighbour to court. I really don't have the time to go to court, as I have to work to pay my utility bills. I can hardly find space to go and come through my gate. "The situation has become very unbearable and, right now, I feel like a prisoner in my own home. As a senior citizen and a law-abiding person who has worked hard all my life to buy a house so I can live in comfort in my old age, I should not be enduring this suffering and nuisance at my gate. "It is so frustrating, because, as an elderly person, I should not have to be forced to take my neighbour to court to get redress. There should be a government body to which I could complain for action to be taken for my neighbour to stop disturbing me", he said. It is very unfortunate that your neighbour is not a considerate person. You could go to the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation and make a report so that steps can be taken to prevent him from continuing to be a nuisance and from causing a health hazard in the community. You can also go to the Resident Magistrate's Court and apply for orders to compel him to remove the motor car from your gate and also to desist from blocking the entrance to your gate. |
