A mid-air crisis took place aboard a Caribbean Airlines flight from Toronto to Jamaica on Monday after a female passenger became erratic leaving other passengers fearful, THE STAR understands. Information reaching our newsroom indicates that the woman got up from her seat while the plane was en route to Jamaica and immediately created a disturbance. Portions of the incident were captured on cellphone cameras and subsequently posted on video-sharing site, YouTube, in the form of three clips each detailing different segments of the incident. In one of the clips entitled 'Mad Woman', the woman was seen shouting and cursing using expletive language. She also described herself saying, "Mi a mad ... smaddy" before returning to her seat amid advice from passengers for her to calm down. synopsis The individual who posted the video sought to give viewers a synopsis of the ordeal encountered by expressing, "The worst part about this whole thing, she was carrying on long before we boarded the flight, and she came on the flight, took her seat and just as the pilot advised us that the flight would have been delayed for one and a half hour given we were already on the tarmac waiting to leave. This demon of a woman got up and began ranting while passengers had to flee from their seats." The eyewitness continued, "I was horrified at her outrageous behaviour and stunned that the flight attendants did not have her removed from the flight ... We had to endure this behaviour for six hours." In response to our enquiries,Head of Corporate Communications for CGR Communications, Clint Williams, confirmed that he was made aware of the occurrence. "We have seen a video of the passenger singing. We have the purser's report of her behaviour. We have received no passenger complaints at this time," Williams said. At the same time, he outlined, "The cabin crew is trained to evaluate every situation. Jamaican entertainer Luciano sat with the passenger, and at no time was there judged to be a threat to security." Williams also noted that, "She was interviewed on arrival and no charges were laid. The crew acted professionally in evaluating the best course of action." |
