A section of the crowd during the dance.
More than 3,000 patrons flocked Ken's Wildflower Sport Bar and Lounge/Guinness grand celebration street dance dubbed 'Celebrating Jamaica' to pay tribute to Jamaica's 50th year of Independence in Bayside, Portmore, St Catherine, on Monday. Ken's Wildflower Club was also swinging upstairs as the party people celebrated Independence Day the only way they knew. There were Guinness bucket deals all night, and the Guinness girls, who looked quite adorable, made sure the party vibe was alive and well with the crowd. modern Era A number of persons, who were previously at the Grand Gala in Kingston, made their way to the dance that was already in session, as disc jocks from Flavour Unit and Klassique sound systems played songs from yesteryear and up to the modern era. Flava Unit's Badda Bling, requested his large audience to show unity and to 'big up' their friends. Ken's Wildflower has been hosting street dances for over 30 years now, and the establishment has evolved from not just catering to a mature audience, but attracting more young people from the municipality and its environs to be one of the premier entertainment hubs in Portmore. It's also a meeting place for families, friends and business associates, a special occasion to wine and dine, chat and enjoy the moment. |
