The two popular YouTube up uploaders have revolutionised the usage of YouTube.com, using the site as a means of earning an income for the promotion of local music. The STAR contacted Krish Genius and according to the YouTuber, his YouTube popularity was unexpected. "I got started by doing promotions for TNez music, and from that I decided to upload songs from other artistes because that would give me more traffic and that would benefit him, plus I loved music from long time," Genius said. According to Genius, he has received several commendations from fans of his uploads who have encouraged him to continue uploading local music and keeping them updated. The YouTuberrevealed that within seven to eight months of his new profession, he realised that he could make money from it, however, he maintains that his main goal was to do promotions. "Money can mek offa it, but mi naah mek nuh portion a money offa it. Younger artistes always approach me and ask to pay to upload their songs on my page, but that charge would normally be based on how much songs they want to promote, and how long they want it to be promoted for," Genuis said. Genuis has done YouTube promotions for JA Production producers of the Overproof; Rumfire and Overtime rhythms, Mavado's Manager Julian Jones Griffiths; and Christopher Martin, among others.
