No bail for woman accused of killing sister

A Portmore woman who is charged with the murder of her sister was again remanded when she appeared in the Spanish Resident Magistrate's Court recently.

Dead is Stacey-Ann Smith, 35-year-old of Lamp Port Way in Portsmouth. The murder accused is Suzan Smith, 37 years old, of the same address. When the case was mentioned Smith was told to return on September 4.

Allegation are that on February 6 about noon, the body of Stacey-Ann was found buried in concrete at the home. It was heard that she had returned home from the Cayman Island a few months earlier.

It was also heard that during a dispute she was hit on the head with a blunt object. She succumbed to her injuries and her body was then buried at the rear of the premises.

The body was discovered after it started to decomposed and flies started taking over that and neighbouring premises.

When the Waterford police responded the body was found wrapped in a crocus bag and buried in mixed cement.

Investigation by Detective Corporal Llewellyn Madden resulted in Suzan being charged with murder.

She has made numerous court appearances since.
