Abundant Life Christian Church celebrates 'Jamaica 50'

Abundant Life Christian Church portrayed their civic pride when they celebrated Jamaica Day as their special way of acknowledging 'Jamaica 50' at their church, located on the Portmore Town Centre Plaza recently.

The audience was decked out in the colours of the national flag, and Jamaican foods were served at the end of proceedings.

The church, known for its youthful population, had presentations in songs, poems, and drama by its members.

Whitney Williams, 18, born on Independence Day, was expressive when she recited a Louise Bennett poem. David Kerr and Daimarer Bonner kept the audience in stitches with their dramatic piece.

Award-winning gospel singer J Cee, even though she wasn't billed for the event, came and gave an outstanding performance as she sang for the congregation and the Almighty.

Dr Karl Rattray was the guest speaker for the function. Dr Rattray, known for his no-nonsense stance for his God, warned people of the changing global acceptance of same sex marriages and its implication for the Jamaican society.

Meanwhile, Senior Pastor Sylburn Kerr and his wife co-pastor Marva thanked all who came to support the venture.
