Man on larceny charge remanded

A teenager who admitted to the theft of a bed, jewellery, money and other personal items pleaded guilty and was remanded when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Marlon Bunting, 19-year-old unemployed of St John's Road Spanish Town, St Catherine, will be sentenced on December 11 when the matter will be, mentioned again.

The allegations before the court are that the complainant securely locked his house. Upon his return, he realised that someone had gained entry by cutting two grilles.

When checks were made, a quantity of items were stolen.

A report was made to the police and an investigation launched. Bunting was later held with a television set and a mattress.

He was subsequently charged with housebreaking and larceny.
