Woman remanded for sister's murder |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer Suzan Smith, the woman charged with the murder of her sister, was remanded when she appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Smith is charged with the murder of Stacey-Ann Smith, 35-year-old, of Portsmouth, Portmore, St Catherine. When the matter was mentioned on Tuesday before Resident Magistrate Vaughn Smith, the accused was told that she would again be remanded. knocked unconscious Allegations before the court are that on February 6, both sisters were at home when there was a dispute between them. It is alleged that the accused knocked her sister unconscious, placed her in concrete and buried her at the rear of the yard. The community became infested with flies after the body started to decompose. A report was made to the Waterford police and a search was launched which led to the body being retrieved. Investigations by Detective Corporal Llewelyn Madden resulted in her being charged with murder. The matter was put off until October 2, and all the witnesses bound over to appear on that date. |
