The incident reportedly unfolded last Monday outside a bar in the west rural St Andrew division, when the officer on patrol drove up and ordered that the music be turned off and the bar licence be presented.

THE STAR was told that during the process, the officer in question allegedly used profanity towards the female, who in turn, replied to the officer using the same profanity.

The alleged attack took place some 48 hours after another policeman Corporal Dwayne Smart was accused of shooting and killing a 25-yr-old pregnant woman, Kayann Lamont, after she used indecent language in St Thomas.

In the more recent incident in St Andrew, one eyewitness in relating the allegations said, "Mi say the woman jus say ... 'a wah dis, so we can't play likkle music again ... Mek dem gwan and nuh argue wid dem cause a same so dem kill di pregnant woman a St Thomas'..."

THE STAR was told that the policeman, now under intense investigation, was reported to have grabbed the woman after she attempted to walk away, punched, choked and unleashed a beating, which included kicks and stomps when she fell.

Our news team was told that due to the severity of the attack, the woman had to seek medical attention after being released from lock up.

A relative of the beaten female told our news team, "After she a defend herself when the police attacked her, dem arrest her and take her away to Duhaney Park, and no space wasn't available so dem take her back to the station in the community, process her and she get bail."

THE STAR contacted a representative at INDECOM and it was confirmed that the matter was being investigated.
