The Newport police in Manchester are investigating the death of two men whose bodies were found on a pig farm at Woodstock in the parish on Saturday, THE STAR has learnt. Information reaching our news team is that the two workers were found dead in their living quarters early Saturday morning, in what investigators are theorising as a suspected case of poisoning. The men have since been identified as 19-year-old Lionel Gayle, otherwise called Peto, from a Blenheim Town address, and 22-year-old Nathaniel 'Kingmond' Williams from a Balaclava address in St Elizabeth. A source attached to the investigations told THE STAR there was no evidence of foul play involved as there were no signs of forced entry to the dwelling occupied by the men. The bodies of the men were reportedly discovered early Saturday morning by the owner of the pig farm after colleagues became suspicious when the men did not report for work at 5 a.m. According to the police, pots containing cooked rice and pork, which appeared untouched, were found in the room. Based on information gathered, it is believed that the men had used chemicals on the farm late Friday, after which they cooked without properly washing away the poisonous substance. |
