Man and female companion killed |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The rural community of Glengoffe St Catherine has a pall of gloom hanging over it following the knife slaying of a man and his female companion sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. Dead is Donovan Raymor 36, of Glengoffe, St Catherine and Carol Angella Smith-Harris, 26, of Linstead, St Catherine. Raymor whom The Star learnt was an outpatient of the Bellevue Hospital was said to have been acting strangely prior to the incident. "Yes di bethren should have check wid me dis mawning fi wi hol a reasoning. So, it is sad dat him dead still," said a dreadlocked man on the scene. Meanwhile, persons including relatives said in recent times Raymor had been showing signs of stress. The Glengoffe police reported that about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, a call about blood on the floor of a house was recorded. When a team went to the scene, the bodies of both deceased were on a bed. Raymor's throat was slashed while Smith-Harris had multiple stab wounds to her body. A knife believed to be the weapon used was seen nearby. Investigations are being conducted by Detective Sergeant Leonard Stewart of the St Catherine North police division. |
